TWENTY-SIX

TWENTY-SIX

So. Friday, I'll turn 26. TWENTY-SIX. That's crazy to me. It's basically 30 (if you round it). A few months ago I was completely disappointed with myself. I hadn't reached two major personal goals and I wasn't where I wanted to be professionally. It was tough. I was hard on myself. I was in a constant state of comparison.

I'm not sure when the light bulb came on, but at some point I was over it. I knew that there was a lane specifically for me and it was time that I swerved back into it. Keeping my eyes on everyone else was blurring my vision. It was knocking me off of my hustle and slowing down the grind. I couldn't have that.

In the grand scheme of things, I'm still really young, and I have plenty of time to flex my muscles. In honor of growing one year older, I'm spotlighting two of my all-time favorite divas. These women stepped out on their own and made it happen for themselves when they were only 26. I'm taking a page from their books and promising to do amazing things in year 26. Watch me work!

Yes, I stan for Diana Ross and Toni Braxton. My car karaoke sessions are lit. Check out how I remade their iconic album covers on Instagram

I would be remiss if I didn't show love for the ultimate Pisces, Robyn Fenty. She made her mark on the world when she was in her early 20s, but it wasn't until she was 26 that she cemented her place in pop culture history!
