There are moments in life that feel like chapters—beautiful, vivid, and impossible to forget. My friend Raven’s wedding was one of those moments for me. Their love story has always had a certain ease to it, a natural rhythm that makes you smile just being around them. Some weddings feel like events while others feel like experiences… Raven (Rae) and Isreal (Izzy) Askew’s destination wedding in Punta Cana was definitely an experience!

When Your Friend Marries Her Perfect Match
I’ve had a front-row seat to Rae’s evolution, from late-night talks and spontaneous adventures to the quiet moments where she figured out exactly what she wanted from life and love. Watching her walk toward Izzy, glowing like she had personally negotiated with the Punta Cana sun for optimal lighting, was emotional in the best way.
And Izzy? He looked at her like he’d been waiting his whole life for that moment. Their energy together is effortless! It’s like two people who share the same playlist, the same sense of humor, and the same ability to make everyone around them feel at ease.
Raven and I can go from deep conversations to laughing until our stomachs hurt in about 0.3 seconds. She’s the friend who shows up, who listens, who loves loudly. So being there for her felt like a personal honor. I’m actually so embarrassed about how much I cried during the ceremony lol but it is what it is, my girl truly deserves whatever she wants. And she’s getting it!
I mean, really—Raven couldn’t have picked a more beautiful place to say “I do” again. The ocean breeze was breezing, the palm trees were palm-treeing, and the resort staff was working overtime to keep us hydrated. It was perfect.

Together, Rae and Izzy are the definition of balance. She’s vibrant, intentional, and full of life. He’s steady, thoughtful, and quietly hilarious if you catch him at the right time. They complement each other in a way that makes you believe in timing, alignment, and maybe even destination weddings. Their ceremony was heartfelt, their reception was joyful, and their chemistry was undeniable. You could feel the love—not just between them, but radiating through everyone who came to celebrate.
Hell, I might get married before the summer is over. You just never know.
