Girls Trip is about four best friends, known as the Flossy Posse, who have grown apart over the years. Yet when one of the friends is offered an opportunity to be a keynote speaker at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, she decides to bring along her friends to turn her work vacation into a girl’s trip. Along the way, they rekindle their wild side by dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to excess.
You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll laugh until you cry.
At the New Orleans premier, the stars of the movie came out in full force. I didn’t know what to expect but I could tell that we were in for a treat. The ensemble included veterans like Queen Latifah and Regina Hall- as well as newcomers like Tiffany Haddish and Kofi SiriBAE.. I meant boe, Kofi Siriboe.
Girls Trip didn’t disappoint. When you think of Essence Fest, you think of Black women. You think of a good time. You think of friendship. This movie gave the audience all of that. The characters were well-developed and relatable.
Girls Trip is the rare R-rated comedy that pushes boundaries to truly comedic effect — and anchors its laughs in compelling characters brought to life by a brilliantly assembled cast. Rotten Tomatoes
There’s a chemistry and harmony between the four leads that can’t really be written, and a kind of guileless ego-free spirit to Malcolm D. Lee’s direction that keeps things perpetually moving. Vulture
