Powerful Woman: Soledad O’Brien

What does it mean to be powerful? How do we harness our power?

Powerful. An interesting word. As a woman in my late 20’s, some days I feel like I’m supposed to have it all figured out. The reality is that I have a long way to go- and that’s not a bad thing. The beauty is in the journey. My recent conversation with Soledad O’Brien was a timely reminder that I’m right where I’m supposed to be. The media maven was in Atlanta hosting an Enrichment Conference as part of her PowHERful Foundation. The conference was a free, daylong empowerment summit for young women aged 14 to 23 years old. High school and college-aged girls were given a chance to explore different career options, receive useful guidance and advice, and interact with successful professionals. A panel featuring industry experts presented curriculum in areas like STEM, blueprints for success, interning, health, and more.

Her Modern Life’s Editor in Chief sat down to chat with Soledad O’Brien to discuss her PowHERful Foundation.

Here is how the “experts” define powerful…
